*To qualify for a variable contracts license, applicants must be life licensed or in the process of becoming life licensed. In addition, applicants must either be registered with FINRA Series 6 or 7 and FINRA Series 63 or 66 OR be a New Hampshire registered representative.

Individual Resident Producer Requirements

To qualify for a license as a resident New Hampshire insurance producer, the applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

Requirements for Conducting Insurance Transactions as a Producer

New Hampshire has a single producer licensing system. Producers may act as agents, brokers, or consultants. To be an authorized agent for any insurer, a person must be a licensed producer and the insurance company must register an agent appointment within 15 days of initiating business with a producer.

Individual Nonresident Producer Requirements and Process

Application Process

Applicants who are not residents of New Hampshire but hold one or more similar insurance licenses in their home state may qualify for a New Hampshire nonresident producer’s license without taking a New Hampshire license exam. Applicants wishing to apply for a New Hampshire nonresident producer’s license must apply electronically through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR), an affiliate of the NAIC, at www.nipr.com.

Registering for an Exam

To register or to schedule an examination, applicants must register directly with Prometric, the exam provider, through one of the following:

An exam registration remains valid for 90 calendar days after it has been processed and expires without further notice. Registration fees are not refunded.

State-Required Product Training

Your state has special training requirements in order for licensed agents to sell the following products:

Long-Term Care: Before selling, soliciting or negotiating LTC Partnership insurance products in New Hampshire, a producer must be licensed with the Accident and Health or Sickness or Life line of authority; and have completed eight (8) hours of approved initial LTCP training. The satisfaction of these training requirements in any state shall be deemed to satisfy the training requirements in New Hampshire.
